Bark with Bear

Apparently I did the “caricature me at my job” trend and now I’m officially a cartoon professional. Still boosting morale, still supervising the halls, still accepting payment in pets and treats. Some things never change. 💜🐶

I loved my snow days — extra naps, extra snacks, and 10/10 zoomies on the ice (don’t tell Mrs. Kuhn I almost perfected my slide technique). BUT I’m so happy to be back at school seeing all my favorite humans again. The halls might not be icy, but the pets and smiles are way better anyway. 💜

The ice break was fun… but this Bear belongs at HEMS!

I had a pawsitively great grooming appointment yesterday, and I want to give a huge shoutout to Dukes Dog-Gone Grooming, LLC for taking such good care of me.

They made sure I was clean, comfy, and looking my best before heading back to school to spread smiles.

Now excuse me while I go show off my fresh look to my favorite students 🐾💜

Today I helped send our students off to winter break with a bear-y fun Holiday Extravaganza! We celebrated strong ABCs (Attendance, Behavior, and Classwork) with holiday trivia, reindeer games, cozy movies, and my favorite — a snowball fight in the gym!
Now it’s time for everyone to rest, recharge, and enjoy time with the people they love. I hope all of our students and families have a happy, safe, and joyful holiday — I can’t wait to see everyone in the new year!

While everyone else was trying to get ready for school this morning, I noticed something VERY important outside — mud. Glorious. Squishy. Impossible-to-ignore mud.

Did I mean to roll in it right before school?
Absolutely.
Do I regret it?
…not even a little.

Mom says I looked “less like a therapy dog and more like a swamp creature,” but after a quick cleanup, I was back to being my best school-ready self. Mud happens. Joy matters.

Whew… one full week of school down, and let me tell you—I finally understand what you humans mean by “teacher tired.” 🐶💤

From morning greetings in the hallways, to wagging my tail at pep assemblies, to soaking up all the pets and love between classes… this golden retriever is ready for a golden nap. 🛌✨

But even when I’m tired, I wouldn’t trade a single moment with my HEMS family. Here’s to resting up this weekend and coming back ready for Week 2!
