🎉 We are proud to announce that the Marshall University College of Education and Professional Development has officially earned FULL ACCREDITATION from the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) at both the Initial-Licensure and Advanced Levels through 2033 for Educator Preparation programs! 💚

Even more exciting — all standards were met with no Areas for Improvement or Stipulations identified during the review process.

This achievement reflects the dedication, innovation, and heart of our incredible faculty, staff, students, alumni, school partners, and communities who work tirelessly to prepare the next generation of educators and leaders.

From future educators and principals to counselors, school psychologists, educational leaders, and doctoral graduates, this class represents the heart of what it means to serve, lead, and inspire. As summer begins and new journeys unfold, we are celebrating the incredible accomplishments of our graduates and cheering them on as they step boldly into bright career paths and meaningful purpose.

Community Cares Week 2026! 💚💪✅

Giving back to the Herd, one project at a time! Faculty, staff, students, and administration from Marshall’s COEPD rolled up their sleeves and brought the teamwork to our South Charleston campus. 💪

From tearing down more than a dozen cubicles to create collaborative conversation corners, to emptying 25+ file drawers for a transition to digital organization, and making countless trips to the dumpster — the day was filled with productivity, progress, and purpose. 👀 We had fun finding the oldest items on the closets & files.

But beyond the hard work, the best part was the connections built along the way. Teamwork truly makes the dream work! Marshall University

We had the opportunity to host Wayne County Schools Grow Your Own students from Spring Valley High School and Wayne High School for a “day in the life” experience as a COEPD student at Marshall University College of Education and Professional Development. 🤘✅

From classroom discussions and hands-on bulletin board assignments to a campus tour, a stop at the Soda Bar, a visit through the LRC, lunch at Harless Dining Hall, and meaningful connections in between — it was a great day spent with future educators and future members of the Herd. 🦬✨

One week ago today, we celebrated a milestone that represents years of hard work, dedication, and passion. These professionals are launching into a new chapter as School Psychologists, Educational doctors, Leaders, Counselors and expert Educators. 🍎💚

Last Friday, our graduates from the Marshall University College of Education and Professional Development were hooded, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter. From late nights studying to unforgettable classroom experiences, this moment was well earned by every student who crossed that stage. Each of these students had a story to tell through their years of hard work.

We are so proud of all our graduates and cannot wait to see the impact they make in their classrooms, workplaces, and communities everywhere. Thank you for allowing us to be apart of your special journey. You will always be apart of the COEPD family.🎓💚

🏠 Hometown: Mercer County, WV
👩‍🏫 Why I chose to become a teacher? Because I am passionate about inspiring lifelong learning and fostering creativity in today’s youth. I am also committed to guiding and shaping future generations by providing the support, knowledge, and encouragement they need to succeed and flourish in life.
🌎 Future Plans: I will continue my education working on my MA at Ohio State University while working in the public education system.
📣 Shoutout: I would not have been able to complete this degree without the support of my mom, dad, and sister.

Residents at VOBE (Village of Barboursville Elementary) went back for one last hurrah on a field trip to Carter Caves with their clinical placement classes!
