Learning to “Hit the Pause Button”
CSH Jr./Sr. High School students in grades 7-12 participated in the “Don’t Press Send” presentation on September 23 which focused on responsible digital citizenship and online communication led by online behavior expert and author Katie Schumacher, founder of the “Don't Press Send” campaign. (At the end of last year, Ms. Schumacher held age-appropriate assemblies for grades K-6 in June helping students navigate the digital world with empathy, responsibility and good judgment.)

GRANT IN ACTION - Signal Weather Hunter. This summer Jr/Sr Highschool students are learning how to use the Satellite Base Station and Weather Station for their summer research experience.

Teachers are also excited about the power of this one device across multiple disciplines.

In September - LHS and WS will have the weather station app for morning announcements and scientific tracking.

Honoring Tradition, Inspiring Patriotism
Continuing a meaningful tradition, Cold Spring Harbor Jr./Sr. High School held its annual Flags for Freedom ceremony on June 10. Each senior received an American flag, folded with care and personally handed out by active military personnel, members of the local American Legion Post and local veterans. This powerful program reinforces a simple mission: that every American high school graduate receives a flag and understands the significance of the sacrifices it represents. Have a safe and happy 4th of July!

These students utilize all the tools and resources that were available to them
to enhance their learning, and looked for creative ways to impact their educational experience
at Cold Spring Harbor. Congratulations!!
