Congratulations to Samuel Sutphin for recently passing his fundamentals of engineering (FE) exam! Samuel is from St. Albans, is an electrical and computer engineering major at Marshall University, and will graduate in May. He was a Summer 2025 intern and is currently interning with us for the Spring 2026 semester. We are proud of Samuel and celebrate this hard-earned accomplishment on his journey to becoming a licensed professional engineer. Way to go, Samuel!

CECS Earns Back to Back Board of Governors Recognition 💚

For the second consecutive Marshall University Board of Governors meeting, a CECS faculty member has been honored through Marshall’s new Faculty Recognition Program.

🚀 Dr. Arka Chattopadhyay
Recognized for securing a $750,000 NASA grant supporting research in regional air mobility in Appalachia. He holds degrees from Virginia Tech, Kansas State University, and Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University.

🔧 Dr. Roozbeh Ross Salary
Recognized last month for outstanding contributions in research and mentorship. He holds degrees from Binghamton University, Syracuse University, and K. N. Toosi University of Technology, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Engineering at George Washington University.

We are proud of both faculty members for representing CECS with excellence. 💚⚙️
