It has been an honor the last 10.5 years to be a small part of your children's experience on this planet Earth. I know that may sound strange, but truly, who knows where their journey might lead them over the next 50+ years? I am honored to have known you and your children and believe that their future will be nothing short of incredible - I know this, because they have you. ❤️ It is with this assurance that I must wish you well and safe journeys in the days ahead, but sadly, So Social daycare will be closing operations effective Monday Jan 15, 2024. 💔 Friday Jan 12th is our last day of operation.
We have been operating in the red since October, when the subsidy funding made available during COVID ran out, and overall enrollment has been very low, and unfortunately January's enrollment numbers were not enough to rally or sustain us. 😅
Personally, I will be moving at least temporarily, towards data annotation work in the AI field coupled with my advocacy work for the city of Huntington. As weather improves, and more funding becomes available, I will pivot to a renewed focus on Forest Adventure as a community resource for children and families and may expand my parent advocacy and training. Only time will tell what next great adventure awaits, the goal always to be helpful, honest, and sustainable with my actions and resources. 🌳🌲❤️🌲🌳
I hope you'll think back to So Social and our work with some kindness, despite the inability to continue this journey with you, in this capacity. I hope our paths cross again and if there is ever anything I can do to help you and yours, please do not hesitate to reach out. I will generally be available during business hours as I complete administrative duties for the baby daycare through the end of January.
Last but not least, it has been an honor to work with the various incredible So Social Staff over the last decade and I'm absolutely happy to recommend wonderful folks for the best private child care in our area: just send me a txt and I'll forward you their number. ☺️ Saying goodbye to each of them is one of the hardest parts of closing, as is saying goodbye to your beautiful children we've guided and nurtured all these years. 💔
I end this post with wet eyes and well wishes for you and yours. It has been an incredible journey over the last decade and I thank you for holding on to hope with me, despite the darkness of today.
