There was really nobody else like her.

Today we're remembering Dolly Parton, one of the true icons of country music. That big personality, that Southern charm, and a lifetime of music, movies, and generosity that brought so many of us joy. She was also a huge champion for kids' literacy, starting the Imagination Library back in 1995, which has now put more than 300 million books into the hands of children across the U.S.

Sending love to the Parton family as they mourn the loss of their beloved Dolly. 🤍

🌬️ Heating and Cooling Hacks
- Open those windows! Turn off the AC and let that crisp WV morning and night air flow through your home for free cooling.
- Block the afternoon sun. Keep blinds and curtains closed during the hottest part of the day to stop solar heat from warming up your rooms .
- Get your fans working. Make sure your ceiling fans are spinning counterclockwise to push a cooling breeze down. Turn them off when you leave the room.
- Check your filters. A clean filter in your HVAC or window unit helps your system run efficiently.

🧺 Appliances & Water Savings
- Wash cold. Switch your laundry to cold water settings to save big on water heating energy.
- Run full loads. Only run your dishwasher and clothes washer when they are completely full.
- Skip the heat dry. Turn off the heated dry setting on your dishwasher and let dishes air-dry.
- Avoid the heat. Limit using the oven, dryer, or dishwasher during the hottest part of the day.

🔌 Lighting & Electronics
- Switch to LEDs. Swap out old bulbs for energy-efficient LEDs.
- Unplug the vampires! Did you know chargers, gaming consoles, and small appliances draw power even when off? Unplug them when not in use .
