The Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the appointment of 12 local students to the inaugural Youth Advisory Board, a new initiative designed to give Cabell and Wayne County high school students a voice in shaping the future of the Huntington region while developing leadership and professional skills.

Youth Advisory Board members will engage with local business and community stakeholders, enhance the image of the Huntington area through digital storytelling, develop leadership skills and gain exposure to career pathways throughout the region.

The 2026 Youth Advisory Board includes:

· Saya Cook - Huntington High School
· Maekaylee Criss – Huntington High School
· Camila Cross – Huntington High School
· Colette Dickerson – Huntington High School
· London Donahoe – Huntington High School
· Kahlil Felder – Huntington High School
· Briley Gilliland – Huntington High School
· Ella Kinsey - Huntington High School
· Carter Miller – Covenant School
· Addyson Smith – Spring Valley High School
· Sam Tigchelaar – Huntington High School

Megan Archer, President & CEO of the Chamber, said the idea for the Youth Advisory Board began when West Virginia FBLA State President London Donahoe and recent Huntington High School graduate Jenna Lindsay approached the Chamber about creating a program that would better connect young people with the local business community.

“We are excited to begin working with these twelve outstanding student-leaders,” Archer said. “Our regional youth deserve a seat at the table, and their voices deserve to be heard. Today’s students are tomorrow’s workforce, entrepreneurs, educators, healthcare professionals, and community leaders. By giving them hands-on opportunities to connect and contribute, we’re helping build a stronger future for our region.”

Our first chapter outing of the year was a huge success! It was wonderful to see so many members come out to The Market for an evening of connection, conversation, and getting to know each other better. Thank you to everyone who joined us for some delicious Austin’s Ice Cream. Here’s to a great start to the year, with many more outings to come!

HHS! Who's ready for a new year of FBLA?! Our officers met today to plan out our year and we are so excited to see everyone again and add some new members!

WV FBLA is heading to The Greenbrier this fall.

Our Fall Conference will take place October 29-30 at West Virginia’s premier five-star resort, bringing together members from across the state for two days of engaging workshops and nationally recognized speakers in one of the most iconic settings in the country.

Huntington High School Future Business Leaders of America’s history-making trip to the National Leadership Conference has concluded.

London Donahoe and Maekaylee Criss placed 9th nationally for their presentation in the Local Chapter Business Report, something no Huntington High School student has ever accomplished. With over 13,000 attendees, this is a significant achievement.

Our chapter co-president, London Donahoe, represented our state on the national stage and at the regional meeting, highlighting newly established initiatives and successes.

All of our members competed, attended workshops, and learned from entrepreneurs and national leaders. In between meetings, sessions, and competitions, we were able to explore downtown San Antonio, visit the Alamo, interview social media star and real estate broker, Jamie Zapata, and enjoy plenty of froyo.

We couldn’t be more appreciative of every supporter, donor, parent, and chaperone who made this all possible. Opportunities like these can truly change the trajectory of students’ lives and it wouldn’t be possible without you!
