MU SOPT booth at the Minority Health Fair was a huge hit (snacks, water & dynamometer) for a hot, sunny day of the Labor Day Weekend. Emilee Carey (DPT 3 student) & Rachel Geiger (Coordinator of Student Services) had the opportunities to engage with the community and share information about our MUVIT Pro Bono clinic services.

School of Physical Therapy participated in the 2026 Fall ECHO (Exploring Careers and Highlighting Occupations), an early, high-impact experience for UNI 100 students, helping them explore majors, connect with campus and employer partners, and begin thinking intentionally about their career goals.

Congratulations to Dr. Scott Davis' outstanding achievement and the special recognition from APTA- West Virginia for receiving the 2026 Nancy Tonkin Distinguished Service Award. The purpose of this award is to acknowledge and honor an outstanding APTA WV member whose contributions to the profession of physical therapy are of exceptional and enduring value and representative of the dedication and service provided by Nancy Tonkin.

Our third-year students presented their research at the 2026 APTA-WV Annual Conference. Their active participation during the state conference showed their support for the profession.

Marshall University SOPT students shined and excelled during the 2026 APTA-WV Annual Conference in Charleston, WV!! Out of all submissions, only the top two abstracts earned platform presentations—and both were presented by our third year students (Holly Brehm, Emilee Carey, Kayleigh Collins, Cassidy Conley, Liz Hills, Erica Stevenson)!!
