The Marshall University Board of Governors has approved the acquisition of property that will become the future home of the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine and the Marshall Community Health Institute.

The new facility will provide a dedicated space for education, research, clinical training and community care, bringing many of the school's core academic functions together under one roof for the first time in its history.

As the School of Medicine approaches its 50th anniversary in 2027, this transformational project will help prepare the next generation of physicians and health professionals while expanding access to care across our region. 💚

Every journey in medicine is unique. 💚

Dr. Jaineet “Jai” Chhabra is combining his passion for sports medicine, research and patient care to make an impact both on and off the field. A 2023 Marshall graduate and former Huntington Expression Prep Basketball athlete, he is now completing his family medicine residency at the UNLV as the first resident accepted into the program’s new sports medicine track.

From working with athletes at every level to advancing research in biomechanics and wearable technology, his story reflects the dedication, resilience and innovation that continue to shape Marshall graduates.
