At Marshall, your voice has a seat at the table.
Marshall University uses a shared governance model, meaning students have a direct voice in university leadership. The Student Body President even serves on the Board of Governors, the university’s governing body.
And that voice doesn’t 
stop at Marshall.

🗳️ Marshall is the only university in West Virginia with an on-campus early voting site, making it easier for students and the Marshall community to participate in local, state and federal elections.

Because being part of a university community means more than going to class.

It means having a voice.

It means being heard. 💚

"I've known since I was a freshman that this is where I belong."

Today, that dream became official for Sophia Gallo.

Sophia received her Green Light admission to Marshall University at Green & White Day, becoming the fourth generation in her family to call Marshall home.

Sophia is continuing a family legacy that stretches back to her great-grandmother, who graduated when Marshall was still Marshall College. Her grandmother and mother are also Marshall graduates, and her aunt, Estelle "Bill" Belanger, is a member of Marshall's Journalism Hall of Fame for pioneering journalism in West Virginia.

Sophia plans to major in sonography and hopes to work in OBGYN. After exploring colleges across the region to make sure she was choosing the right path, she found herself right back where she's always felt she belonged. After growing up hearing stories about Marshall and spending time on campus, she's excited to create memories and traditions of her own.

Our first FREE open house of the semester is just 12 days away, and we’d love to welcome high school juniors and seniors and their families to Marshall University for Green & White Day on Saturday, Sept. 12!

Whether you already know Marshall is the place for you or you’re just starting to figure out your college plans, Green & White Day is your chance to:

💚 Experience life on campus

And there’s a pretty good reason to stick around after the open house: Marshall takes on Middle Tennessee that evening at Joan C. Edwards Stadium, and Green & White Day attendees and their families can receive up to 3 tickets to the game for free!
