We are so proud of our very own Jowan Al-Nusair, MD for receiving the Bradley Stuart Beller Endowed Merit Award at ASCO 2026 and for delivering an oral presentation at the meeting. This award is given to the trainee with the highest-ranking abstract overall as determined by the Scientific Program Committee. This is a shining example of the incredible research our residents are capable of. Congratulations Jowan! Conquer Cancer Foundation

Our gastroenterology enthusiasts represented us well at Digestive Disease Week (DDW) 2026 in Chicago. PGY-2 Drs. Drew Ferguson and Yonas Fetle, along with PGY-1 Dr. Jennifer Qasim, presented their interesting research. PGY-3 Dr. Ibrahim Shanti was also recognized with a Poster of Distinction. We were so pleased to reconnect with our former residents and fellows at the meeting.

“Taking care of yourself isn’t selfish. It’s mandatory.” 💚

Dr. Jennifer Hanrahan, chair of medicine and infectious disease physician at Marshall Health Network and the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, shared a powerful message on women’s health at the 2026 West Virginia Chamber of Commerce Women’s Leadership Summit.

Her insights were simple, practical and impactful: prioritize sleep, lift weights, build meaningful connections and talk with a provider about perimenopause and menopause.

Taking care of your health is essential, and it starts with small, intentional choices.
