How do you feel when you are understood? How do you feel when someone wants to learn about you and your likes, dislikes, interests and passions? Think about your relationships with family members, friends, co-workers, etc. Who do you WANT to communicate and work with and why? It’s the same for our kids! If we want to get them talking and sharing their thoughts and ideas, our best bet is to join them in their interests, at their level, in a way that is developmentally appropriate. Making Speech Therapy fun since 2008! Ashley Lyons received her Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology from The George Washington University. She worked as the Speech and Language Therapy Department Supervisor at Rebecca School and has over 15 years experience working with individuals from birth to 21 years of age. Ashley’s interests include supporting pre-linguistic development, addressing oral-motor, sensory and feeding needs, working collaboratively with families and providing early intervention services. Ashley is passionate about the DIRFloortime® model, working developmentally and sharing this information with others as a
DIRFloortime® Training Leader through ICDL.
