More on the Horse.
Weight distribution in the lead leg or shifted Horse?

If you’re going to start sparring, you need to get comfortable using your Wing Chun with gloves on. Tonight, we worked on Pak Da in timed rounds.
*Note - This is not fighting or actual sparring. Just a standard segmented drill that we use to train Wing Chun for sparring.

Next Horse question.
When advancing the lead leg Horse (one leg in front), space between legs or balance beam?

Lop Sao is a form of Chi Sao and teaches many fundamental lessons in Wing Chun. In this Lop Sao drill each partner takes a turn working on Lop Da to trapping hands. All of this must be accomplished by turning and pushing the Horse to "stick." Hands and Horse together.

Just a short clip of some raw drill training in Wing Chun. Pak Da to So Geuk. As you can imagine, there are many different follow-ups to use after this. These guys had been training for 4 hours already and were still going at it. But it's par for the course if you're going to get good.

This is how you train when you really want to be good at something. Michael never disappoints. He understands so much already at this young age. I'm glad he loves Wing Chun so much. I am proud to be his SiFu.
Please don't tell me the dummy is a little too tall for him. I know that already. He's managing just fine. Thank you.

Let's talk about the Horse this week.
How do you move forwards?
Step with front and drag the rear, or push from the rear?

Just set up a Koo Sang Dummy in my new home studio. It's nice to have one set up at home. I really miss it.
