Is there such a thing as too much Structure in WingChun?

Found an old clip from some freestyle movements my friends and I came up with years ago. This is a small part of it. Just some flowing movements to build feeling with the dummy.

Centerline theory.
What is it? Will I never get hit if I protect it?
Will I always win if I attack it?
Is this only in Wing Chun?

This is a Wing Chun fighting combo that we work on. Not easy. Footwork has to be correct and fluid.
Attack: 2 straight punches.
Defense: Full/Dai Gaan Sao for the first punch to Lop Da for the second punch to Lan Sao attack to Uppercut for cover to a Chong Gerk/Sidekick. The Sidekick is normally done without the big step away. It's done this way to avoid kicking his partner. It's a powerful kick and a great finisher. The attacking partner also moves away to avoid getting hit as everything is done with a good amount of striking power.
This is Wing Chun. Fighting combo.

This was Michael's intro to the dummy and working alone. I didn't have a dummy small enough for him to work on so I took out the 2 top arms so that he could still work on some techniques.
The Wing Chun Dummy is an ingenious instrument of the imagination. To be used whenever you don't have a partner.
Michael did really well for the first time.

Does Wing Chun only kick low?

06/03/2026

Michael is 11 years old and working on his Dung Gerk/Front Kick. He's been working on this pretty consistently for the last couple of weeks, and the hard work is starting to pay off. There are still some corrections to be made but it's only going to get better from here. He's an amazing kid.

I think Rattan Rings develop bad habits in Wing Chun.
Am I wrong?

This is another clip from training the other night. It starts out defensively at the Bridge with 2 Kwan Sao's and changes offensively into a Lop Da and then into a pressured Chasing Horse with Che Choi/Chain punches to finish the job. These students did pretty well despite it being the first time training this one.
