This Friday, all seniors will take part in our Annual Financial Aid and Community College Day in the cafeteria from Periods 1 through 5 with your Government or Economics class. Don’t have a Gov/Econ class? No problem — just come during a free period!

Before Friday, make sure you AND at least one parent create an FSA ID — this is required before we start the actual FAFSA application. You’ll want to complete this step together ahead of time.

Marina alum (Class of 2024) and current Yale student and ambassador came by to speak to AVID students about admissions, financial aid, and tips/tricks on the application process.

The College Night at was a hit! More than 85 organizations came out and our Vikings and families learned about different college and career options locally and abroad.

The cafeteria was packed with parents and students for our annual 12th Grade College Info Night. We had a representative from the community college, , , a private college as well as an international college speak on behalf of their system. Admission officers spoke candidly about admission requirements, scholarships, major selection, and more!

Congratulations Derick Chhuon who is a National Merit Semi-Finalist. He was one of 16,000 high scorers selected nationwide, representing less than 1 percent of the nation’s high school graduating seniors to qualify for this annual competition. He will now prepare for the next phase of competition, and we couldn’t be more proud! Let’s give it up for Derick! Way to go!
