Creative Little Minds

The last few weeks… school is winding down but students are creating…

Open House was last week. It was great to see some of the art work we worked on out in the wild. I had so many visitors at Hawes Art room🫶🏼

Been busy with many art projects at Peterson and Hawes. Mini Museums for 4th and 5th grades ready for Open House and many fun projects.

This is what we have been up to in art class. Painting, drawing colored pencils. Love the creativity!

The week before spring break was full of energy at Hawes. Students learned about Alma Thomas she discovered her signature style in her 70’s… it’s never too late to become an artist. Students also used their own pinch pots to create a still life.

Students enjoyed painting with acrylics on their pinch pots. We explored the world of designer Laurel Burch and painting springtime ladybugs. As March slowly comes to a close I am able to observe how my students are enjoying new mediums and love creating.

Students had fun exploring oil pastels and watercolor. 4th and 5th grade still working on Pinch pots this week they will paint them💕

Students reviewed Primary Colors and learns about Roy Lichtenstein’s comic books. The littles loved the Love Monster!

Students at both Hawes and Peterson Elementary learned about Jim Dine and his amazing hearts. Oil pastel, paint, dot makers, stamps, stencils kids loved exploring all types of tools to make art.
