This artist/acquaintance learned from her followers that a rug featuring her original design was being sold without her permission (she succeeded in getting it taken down). Another colleague had to sue Amazon to get them to stop selling her products on their platform. We’ve had similar situations happen to us - as have many others. Just because an image is online doesn’t mean anyone can use it for their own profit!!
We are calling on our representatives in Congress to escalate their efforts to protect the intellectual and creative property rights of artists in all genres.
