Reunion Ocean View High School Class of 1988

Okay Seahawks... it is time again. We are getting inquiries to do a 35 year reunion for Ocean View High School Class of 1988. Who is interested? We spoke today and would like to just do something more casual... like meet up at a space/restaurant? Thoughts... love some suggestions.

It is with the saddest of heart that I share with my family, friends and classmates that Steve Scruggs passed away this week. He was my high school best friend and the most amazing human I know! I don’t think I have ever met someone with a more pure heart than Scruggsy! I have so many stories but one that a lot know... We would go to lunch in his his El Camino (Camino Crew shout out!) every day in high school and I still am shocked that they allowed us to do that. 10 guys in the back of an El Camino heading to Burger King on beach Boulevard. I always got the front seat like a true gentleman. Steve was unique. And had a laugh that was contagious. I can hear it now. He cared about everyone around him and their entire families. He was always the first to wish me a happy birthday. Always! I am going to miss him tremendously. I am a lucky girl to be able to call Steve Scruggs one of my best friends. If you have any stories please share. It will help us all heal a little bit. I have a huge hole in my heart today but it will be filled with great memories of Steve. 35 years of a beautiful friendship....

We shouldn’t wait for another 10 years.

Hey there fellow Seahawks, just wanted to let you know that we have officially started the ball rolling for planning the reunion. We hear a few of you are ready to start making plans to attend and we are super excited to see everyone!
We are looking at having the reunion sometime in Oct/Nov 2018. That is our first choice. 2nd choice is before school starts in August. We are waiting to hear back from OVHS to get the date for the Homecoming game so that we might try to coordinate with some other OV events. We are also looking into venues. Date will depend on the final venue and availability.
At this point, we are going to have the official reunion be a light appetizer and cash bar at a local Huntington Beach venue. This will help to keep the cost on the lower end. We are still pricing everything out, so give us a little more time to coordinate. We appreciate your patience with the planning process, know we are working on getting this set up asap.
