Tom King and Lindy Thurrell have owned The Academy (the best broadcasting school in the country!) for 42 years. In that time, we have trained MANY successful broadcasters with the help of our always amazing group of studio counselors and lecturers. As 2025 starts, we would like to thank everyone who has supported us through the years. We have made the decision to close The Academy. We will always cherish the friendships we have made. Thanks for being a HUGE part of our lives for such a long time!

Happy 41st birthday to The Academy of Radio & Television Broadcasting. Many things have changed in those 41 years. The original curriculum was created on a typewriter; now the updates are done on computer. Editing tape involved actual tape and razor blades; now it's all digital. Classes had to be done in studios and lecture halls; now we are on-line. The one thing that remains the same is the quality of our graduates! It's a huge group of major, medium and small market talent that are doing what they love because they allowed us to teach them. Thanks to everyone who has been with us through the years.
