During a recent operation, Coach Kent Nerhus experienced an in-flight emergency when one of the landing gear legs detached from a DJI DJI Matrice 210 mid-flight.
For those familiar with enterprise drones, the M210 is no small aircraft. Maintaining control during an equipment malfunction requires experience, composure, and fast decision-making.
Remaining calm under pressure, Coach Kent safely stabilized the aircraft, assessed the situation in real time, and successfully executed a controlled hand catch to prevent damage to the aircraft and surrounding environment.
