Today marked the second of two OVSD Special Olympics events and the 35th annual competition hosted by Oak View Elementary. Students from Harbour View, Hope View, Oak View, Circle View, and Star View participated in a variety of events, including basketball, volleyball, rhythmic dance, relay races, co****le, and more.πππΌπ
It was an incredible day celebrating inclusion, teamwork, sportsmanship, and the achievements of every athlete. Thank you to the 4th and 5th grade Owls for helping run the event and to everyone who made this special event a success!

Ocean View hosted its 4th Annual Middle School Science Expo! π¬π§ͺπ§« Top teams from each school showcased their innovative projects to a panel of judges before winners were announced for each grade level.

Star View Elementary closed out open house season for OVSD with an evening full of celebration and pride! Families visited classrooms as students showcased the projects, learning, and accomplishments they worked so hard on throughout the year.

Village View Dolphins HB hosted its open house tonight, and it was such a fun evening for our families and students! The campus was filled with incredible student artwork and projects, along with pizza, a Kona Ice truck, and a silent auction. It was wonderful seeing everyone come together and enjoy the night. Thank you to all who helped make it such a great event!π€©

Today marked the first of two OVSD Special Olympics events β and the 35th year of this incredible tradition! College View Elementary proudly hosted Golden View, Marine View, Lake View, Vista View, and Westmont for an amazing day filled with fun, teamwork, and a variety of exciting events for students to enjoy. Wildcat students assisted with the games, making it a truly special day!ππ
Weβre looking forward to the second day of competition this Friday at Oak View beginning at 9:30 a.m., where the remaining schools will have their turn to participate.

The Board proudly recognized ProtectHB and ComUNIDAD for their continued dedication to supporting the Oak View community. Since 2023, ProtectHB and ComUNIDAD have partnered to strengthen community connections and serve local families through meaningful outreach efforts. Together, they have supported the weekly Oak View food bank, originally launched by ComUNIDAD in 2020, helping provide essential resources to families in need. More recently, ProtectHB has expanded these efforts by organizing collections of household essentials to further support local families.
Thank you to both organizations for making a lasting difference in the Oak View community!

Congratulations to Erin Bains, who has been named the next principal of Westmont Elementary School by the OVSD Board of Trustees!
Bains joins OVSD after most recently serving as Director of Student Services & Safety at Fountain Valley School District and brings leadership experience at both the elementary and middle school levels. She will succeed principal Diana Bianco, who is retiring at the end of the school year. Please join us in welcoming Erin Bains to OVSD!πππΌ
