“I’ve always had a desire to see the world, so when Juniata gave me the opportunity to study abroad, I jumped at it. I studied at York St John University in York, England. Not only did York have courses related to my POE, but the city itself looked like a cool place to explore and live.”

Asher, an Integrated Media Arts student also completing a secondary in Marketing embraced his Junior semester abroad by immersing himself in the rich history and creative energy of York. Studying at York St John University gave him a chance to expand his academic horizons while living in one of the most vibrant cities in England. From exploring medieval streets to building global connections, Asher’s journey abroad was one for the books!

🚀 Studying abroad broadens perspectives, enhances education, and offers unforgettable life experiences. We love seeing our students take their learning to the next level in unique global settings! 🌏

🎬 In the Classroom: IMA Capstone Edition 🎨

Last week, our talented Integrated Media Arts (IMA) capstone students took a major step forward in narrowing down the scope of their independent research projects! 📚✨

We had the privilege of meeting in the reading room at the with Student Success & Outreach Librarian, Elainie Jury, to dive into the essentials of finding credible, CRAAP (Currency, Relevance, Authority, Accuracy, and Purpose) -approved sources. 📖🔍 Elainie guided us through strategies for refining our research focus and setting clear, achievable goals.

This year, students are completing their capstones through our Practicum course, as an Intern (on or off campus), or through our upper-level Capstone Research course.

One preliminary topic:
🎨 “From Plate to Paper: Representing historic community images through artistic expression”

We’re also excited to announce that we’re in the process of updating our online presence and our studio website! We have been meeting frequently to identify all of the ways we tell the IMA story. Stay tuned for new highlights from our amazing alumni, students, and study abroad experiences. 🌍✨

Exciting work ahead from these creative minds—stay tuned! 💡💪
