ETIQUETTE AND LEADERSHIP CLASSES FOR CHILDREN AND TEENS THIS JULY AND AUGUST. Etiquette classes provide your children and teens with confidence in knowing all about table manners as well as building self esteem through learning leadership and social skills. Topics include: American and European styles of dining, how to handle a knife and fork, napkin etiquette, how to eat soup and how to properly eat bread as well as silent service codes. Social skills and leadership skills build confidence in introducing yourself and others, eye contact and handshaking and how important they are in making a great impression, public speaking, how to start and maintain a conversation, the act of kindness, the etiquette of public places, party planning, thank you notes and much more. Etiquette Classes are back! The next class for Children's Etiquette and Leadership Skills, Ages 8- 12 years is Saturday, August 14, 2021 and the Teen Etiquette and Leadership Skills will be held Saturday, August 7, 2021. Both will be conducted at the William Penn Inn in Gwynedd, PA from 9:30 AM to 4 PM. I only accept 12 students and classes are filling fast. I love it when my audiences make me laugh! I was giving a business etiquette speech for a large university in Philadelphia and I asked, "What is the most powerful thing you can wear to a job interview?" Someone yelled, "Deodorant!" It was so funny. I responded with, "I was thinking more about a navy blue suit and white shirt!" I love what I do!

Should I refuse to shake hands during cold and flu season? I always recommend that you shake hands with people and carry hand sanitizer with you to take care of those pesky germs. If you absolutely want a polite way out of shaking hands make sure you say the following: " I'd like to shake your hand ( indicates you have good manners) but, I am getting over a bad cold and don't want to pass it on to you." This cleverly puts the responsibility on you and the other person is not offended or disappointed. Most people will take a step back and say, "Thank You" multiple times!
