Sharing Garden at Assurance A community garden, sharing in the vegetables grown and donating what we can. Membership is open to everyone in our community. All are welcome.

Diverse people coming together to grow a garden and sharing the food grown with community organizations serving the hungry. The Sharing Garden at Assurance provides garden space for any person of the Assurance community, to come and share a common interest in organic gardening and a way to provide healthy food for their family and friends. Through gardening, we aim to build a sense of community, p

roviding members of all ages and abilities an accessible place to garden, an education in organic gardening, and a way to participate in outreach to the hungry. Growing for over 10 years, our garden includes 21 raised beds, 4 accessible raised beds, fruit trees, berry bushes, grape vines and a greenhouse. We use organic gardening methods and drip irrigation run from our on-site well. The Sharing Garden is sponsored by Assurance United Methodist Church in Huntersville, NC. This is a membership community garden requiring a $10 yearly fee and a commitment to 4 hours per month of volunteer time. Members include both church and non-church members. Members are encouraged to take as much of the harvest as they can use, the remainder is donated for local hunger relief.
