Chris Jones joins SouthLake Christian Academy as Associate Head of School for Finance and Operations, bringing more than two decades of senior leadership in mission-driven independent schools. Currently, as founder of Unitus Consultants, he helps senior leaders in various businesses and organizations build healthy cultures, develop joy-filled teams, and realize sustainable growth.
In his five years as Head of School at Cannon School, he stewarded a $25 million operating budget and began a comprehensive campaign while growing enrollment and annual giving.

Previously, at the University of Chicago, he served as its precollegiate Chief Financial and Operating Officer, shepherding a $200 million campus renovation and building administrative teams known for both excellence and joy in their work. Across all these roles, he has approached school operations not as back-office functions but as community stewardship—a tangible expression of the care we share for a school’s people, resources, and mission.

A committed follower of Christ and Presbyterian, Chris has served his churches faithfully as a youth leader, deacon, and elder. He holds an M.B.A. in Corporate Strategy and an A.B. in Philosophy from the University of Chicago.

As an SLCA parent, Chris is an active member of our Dad’s Ministry and volunteers annually at Windy Gap. He and his wife Allison have two children, Ella and Ryan. Next year, Ryan will be a freshman in our Upper School. Chris enjoys the rare game of golf, an almost daily trail ruck, and his annual Memorial Day attempt to complete the Murph Challenge in under an hour—he’s still attempting! While at SouthLake, he aims to serve Head of School Scott Dillon’s leadership by strengthening and stabilizing the functions entrusted to his care. Ultimately, Chris seeks to steward the school's resources toward a future where its operations, programs, and teams continually glorify God.

We don’t say goodbye to the Class of 2026 - we proudly welcome them into our alumni family, confident they will continue to lead and serve wherever they go.

We are grateful for our dedicated faculty and staff, recently honored with a special breakfast hosted by our academic leadership team. Their commitment, passion, and care shape the heart of SouthLake each and every day.

Even as we reflect, we are looking ahead with excitement. From new campus enhancements to the addition of a brand-new playground, there is so much to anticipate as we prepare for the 2026–27 school year.

Here’s to new beginnings, continued growth, and all that lies ahead.
