The Halton School

Yesterday, The Halton School students had the most incredible adventure at the North Carolina Zoo, and our hearts are still full from all the joy and excitement we witnessed!

From wide eyes at the elephant exhibit to giggles at the giraffes, our students were absolutely BEAMING all day long. 🐘🦒 It was so wonderful to watch their curiosity come alive as they explored one of the largest natural habitat zoos in the world right here in our home state!

Trips like these remind us why hands-on, real-world learning is so powerful. Our students didn't just see animals — they asked incredible questions, made connections to what they've been learning in the classroom, and created memories that will last a lifetime. 📚

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing teachers and chaperones who made the day run smoothly, and to all the families who supported this trip. We couldn't do it without you! 💛

Ms. Heidi, your dedication, leadership, and genuine care for every single student and staff member does not go unnoticed. You show up every day with a smile, a kind word, and an unwavering commitment to making our school the best it can be.

Thank you for everything you do behind the scenes and in the spotlight — from the big decisions to the small moments that mean the world to our kids.

A day of planting for Earth Day with master gardener, Ms. Kim. She came in to volunteer and taught the kids the right way to plant seeds.

We want to send a huge THANK YOU to the Huterville Fire Department for visiting The Halton School and spending time with our students! 🚒

Our students had an incredible experience learning about fire safety, seeing all the firefighters’ equipment up close, and even getting to explore the fire truck. One of the highlights was showing the kids what firefighters look like in full gear—helping them feel safe and prepared instead of scared in an emergency.

We are so grateful for your time, care, and commitment to keeping our community safe. Thank you for making learning fun and meaningful for our students!
