School starts soon! North Carolina law requires students to have current immunizations and proof of vaccination or an approved exemption. New NC public school students must also provide a health assessment. Health assessments and immunization records/exemptions are due by September 23. The Long Creek Elementary staff looks forward to welcoming our Mighty Mustang families to Open House for the 2026-2027 school year! Open House is scheduled for Thursday, August 20th; see the Open House Schedule below.

Open House Schedule
4:00 to 4:45 PM: New Family Meeting (All new families) | Learn more about our school and what to expect for the upcoming year. Following the meeting, families are invited to explore the building. New students in grades 1 through 5 will also have an opportunity to meet their classroom teacher.
4:30 to 5:15 PM: Open House for 1st and 2nd Grade
5:15 to 6:00 PM: Open House for 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade

Please note that kindergarten classrooms will not be open during Open House. Kindergarten families will have a separate Meet the Teacher and classroom visit on August 28.

Ride on up to our drive-thru Gallop & Go Packet Pickup to grab your student’s back-to-school packet. You will receive class placement information and school news. Choose the date that works best for you. Please use the bus lot entrance via Hedrick Circle for the pick up line. Staff will greet you at your car and provide your packet.

Schedule: 4:00–4:45 PM New Family Meeting, 4:30–5:15 PM Grades 1–2, 5:15–6:00 PM Grades 3–5. Kindergarten families will attend Meet the Teacher on August 28. Our Mighty Mustangs celebrated all of their hard work this year with class parties this afternoon! Students enjoyed time with friends, delicious food, and lots of fun as we wrapped up an amazing school year together. Thank you to our families and staff for helping make the day so special. Only two more days of school, Mustangs! Finish strong!
