Today we say goodbye, but not farewell, to Officer Moorer as he begins his well-earned retirement.

Since the day North Academy of World Languages opened its doors, Officer Moorer has been a constant presence in our halls, serving as our School Resource Officer, protector, mentor, and friend. He has helped countless students learn about safety, responsibility, and respect while always bringing a smile, a listening ear, and a caring heart.

His impact reaches far beyond keeping our school safe. He has built relationships, earned trust, and become a beloved member of the Narwhal family. We are grateful for his years of service, dedication, and unwavering commitment to our students and staff.

Officer Moorer thank you for helping make our school a place where children could learn, grow, and thrive. We wish you happiness, good health, and many new adventures in this next chapter of your life.

What an incredible evening celebrating five amazing years of North Academy of World Languages!

Our gala was filled with joy, laughter, and a deep sense of pride as families, staff, and community members came together to honor the journey of our school. The event was beautifully attended, the food was delicious, and everyone looked absolutely stunning.

One of the highlights of the evening was watching our talented students shine on stage. Their performances reminded us why we do this work and gave us a glimpse of the bright future ahead. The silent auction was also a tremendous success, thanks to the generosity and support of our community.

To our families, thank you for entrusting us with your children and partnering with us on this journey. To our staff, thank you for your dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment to excellence. North Academy is special because of you.

Five years ago, we launched a dream. Today, we celebrate how far we’ve come, and we’re even more excited about where we’re headed. The best is yet to come!

German Youth Debate Showcase Highlights Student Language Skills and Critical Thinking

What if global financial markets were backed by fruit juice and gelatin? That was just one of the imaginative questions at our recent German Youth Debate Showcase, where elementary students in grades 3–5 took the stage to debate entirely in German! These brilliant young minds showed incredible language immersion, critical thinking, and quick wit.

We were honored to welcome distinguished guests , Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany for North Carolina, Reinhard von Hennigs, and Robert Schatz from the Central Agency for Schools Abroad (ZfA), who attended to celebrate our thriving German language community.

To add to the excitement, the Deutsche Schule Charlotte generously raffled off a grand prize of one free tuition package for the upcoming Fall semester! David Maruna from Frau Lind's class was the lucky winner!

Congratulations to all of our incredible debaters-the future of global diplomacy is in very capable hands! 👏

NAWL Shines Bright at Poetry Contest

Huge congratulations are in order! 🏆 We are bursting with pride to announce that three of our students were among the top three in the 2026 National Chinese Poetry Recitation Contest!

Kaylee Dickerson: 3rd Place (Non-Native Group) 🥉

In addition to our students’ success, Li Laoshi and Zeng Laoshi were honored to have received the Outstanding Organization Awards!

What an incredible day of teamwork, culture, and community at the Charlotte Asian Dragon Boat Festival! 🐉🌎

Staff, and families from North Academy of World Languages and South Academy of International Languages proudly joined forces with Charlotte Sister Cities to paddle together in celebration of global friendship and cultural connection.

This collaboration represented exactly what language immersion and international education are all about , unity across cultures, communication beyond borders, and learning through authentic experiences. And the best part? We didn’t just show up… we competed well and held our own on the water! 💪🚣‍♀️

From the cheering crowds to the teamwork in the boat, the day was filled with pride, joy, and unforgettable memories. We are grateful for the opportunity to strengthen partnerships across our schools and our city while celebrating the rich traditions of the Asian community.
