A lot of parents genuinely believe, “My child would never.”

And to be fair, many children behave very differently at home than they do at school.

Some parents even think teachers are exaggerating until they actually witness the classroom themselves.

That is exactly why so many parents would be shocked if they had to teach for a full day.

Children act differently around friends.
They test boundaries differently in groups.
And some behaviors that seem minor in isolation become exhausting when they happen repeatedly with 25 or 30 students at once.

Most teachers are not expecting children to be perfect.
They understand kids make mistakes.

But many parents would quickly realize that managing a classroom is far more difficult than it looks from the outside.

The constant interruptions.
The repeated reminders.
The off-task behavior.
Trying to teach while also keeping everyone focused, respectful, and safe.

Sometimes you do not fully understand what teachers deal with until you experience it yourself.

If you ask any kindergartner, first grader, or second grader today, they'll tell you it was “the best day ever!” Huge shout out to Mrs. Greathouse and Miss Gouldsberry for organizing stations for an entire day full of crafts, games, and fun. And shout out to Mr. Snedden for serving up some awesome hotdogs at lunch. Thank you to the staff and parent volunteers that came out and helped give these kids a perfect Friday!

Our 8th graders are leaving their mark at HHS in a special way! 🎨✨ As part of their transition to high school, students painted ceiling tiles that will be displayed back at HHS for years to come. Each tile reflects their creativity, personality, and the memories they’ve made along the way.
