There’s a certain kind of work that doesn’t belong on the internet.

My work is with children, and protecting the privacy of the families who trust me will always matter more than having something to post.

So, you may not see every lesson, every milestone, every conversation, or every little win.

But just know…

Best Start is off to a beautiful start.

The families I serve are exceptional. The work is meaningful. The growth is happening.

And I’m perfectly content knowing that some of the best parts of what we’re building are meant to be experienced, not displayed. 🤍

Reading works the same way. 🏠📚

Before we expect children to read increasingly complex texts independently, they need strong foundational skills underneath them.

Think:

🔤 Letter-sound knowledge
👂 Phonemic awareness
🧩 Blending & segmenting
📖 Decoding
📝 Fluency
📚 Comprehension

When the foundation is shaky, everything built on top can feel harder.

Confident Start Literacy: Foundational Phonics focuses on strengthening those foundational decoding skills so students have something solid to build upon.

Because sometimes the answer isn’t “read more.”

Sometimes we need to go back to the foundation.

My goal this year is simple:

✨Help as many students as possible become confident, capable readers.

Reading impacts every subject, every classroom experience, and a child’s confidence. When students have the right foundation, they don’t just learn to read… they begin to see themselves as readers. (There’s a difference)

At Best Start Learning, I believe parents are their child’s Best Start. My role is to partner with you by identifying what your child needs and creating a clear path forward.

This school year, I’m sharing literacy tips, strategies, and resources to help families support reading success at home.
