We love seeing young people recognize a need in their community and step up to make a difference. We applaud this Cypress student in her efforts to help raise funds for an inclusive playground where children of all abilities can play, connect, and belong. 🛝💙👏

Aubrey Wagner noticed something at Moore Elementary: students who use wheelchairs were sitting out during recess. Now, the 10-year-old is determined to leave behind a meaningful gift — a playground where no child has to sit on the sidelines:

🚨 BIG NEWS FOR AUTISM SAFETY 💙

When an autistic individual goes missing, every minute matters. Having first responders, law enforcement, emergency management agencies and community partners better prepared and working together can make a critical difference.

At Inspire ND, we have seen firsthand how education, preparation and the right tools can help create safer interactions and safer communities for neurodivergent individuals.

We look forward to learning more as this national initiative develops and seeing how it can strengthen missing-person response and prevention efforts across our communities. 💙💡

HHS Secretary Kennedy announced the first-ever National Autism Missing and Endangered Person Alert initiative.

💙 What a relief to see the update that this young boy has been safely reunited with his family.

When situations like this happen, it’s also important that we lead with compassion—not judgment. Wandering and elopement can be a very real concern for autistic individuals and their families, and it can happen in a matter of seconds—even with loving, attentive parents and caregivers.

Instead of asking, “How did this happen?” let’s ask, “How can we help?” 💙

✅🚔 UPDATE: CHILD’S PARENTS LOCATED!

Great news! Deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office have located the parents of the young child found wandering near the 2200 block of Laurel Oaks Drive.

Deputies are on scene with the family at this time.

💙 A great step toward safer and more understanding interactions in our community!

We're glad to see the Humble Police Department offering Autism Awareness vehicle stickers to help officers recognize when an occupant may have communication differences or may not respond to verbal commands as expected. 👏

🧩 Autism Awareness Stickers Now Available! 💙
The City of Humble is proud to offer Autism Awareness Stickers designed to help improve communication, understanding, and safety during interactions between officers and individuals on the autism spectrum.
Parents and guardians can pick up a sticker and complete an information form with a recent photo and important details about their child. The sticker can be displayed on a family vehicle to help officers recognize that a child with autism may be involved during a traffic stop, may become lost, or may need assistance.
Together, we can build a safer, more understanding community and strengthen the partnership between families and law enforcement. 💙
