Our 11th and 12th grade IB History students recently stepped outside the classroom and into history at the Holocaust Museum Houston.
As part of their preparation for the IB History curriculum, students engaged with firsthand accounts, artifacts, photographs, and personal stories that brought the human impact of the Holocaust into focus. The experience challenged students to move beyond simply studying historical events and to consider the choices, perspectives, and individual experiences behind them.
For our IB students, history is more than dates and facts—it is about examining evidence, questioning perspectives, understanding context, and thinking critically about how the past shapes our understanding of the world today.
We are grateful to the Holocaust Museum Houston for providing our students with an experience that extended their learning far beyond the classroom and reminded us all of the importance of remembering, questioning, and learning from history.
