People always ask “Coach, what is this culture camp you’re always talking about?”. Well without experiencing it there is no great way to explain it but I’ve done my best below…

Every year, the Humansville High School Boys Basketball program heads to the Lake of the Ozarks for our annual culture camp. This isn’t just a getaway—it’s where our team identity is built.

This year’s theme, “Chop Wood, Carry Water,” is a reminder that success isn’t found in the spotlight but in the daily commitment to the process. We are learning to embrace the little things, master the details, and understand that excellence comes from consistently doing the ordinary things extraordinarily well.

Throughout the weekend, our players camp together, train together, eat together, and grow together. We strengthen our bodies through workouts, enjoy time on the water swimming and competing, and build lifelong friendships through shared experiences. Around the campfire and during our nightly leadership talks, we challenge one another to become better teammates, stronger leaders, and young men of character.

Culture camp is about more than basketball. It’s about developing trust, accountability, and brotherhood. It’s where fellowship replaces selfishness, relationships become stronger, and a group of individuals begins to become one team.

When we leave the Lake of the Ozarks, we return with more than memories—we return with a deeper commitment to each other, our program, and the work ahead. We know that championships aren’t built overnight. They are built one day, one detail, one rep, and one choice at a time.

Chop Wood. Carry Water. Trust the Process. Build the Brotherhood. Choose the Hard Work.

It’s getting close to the time of our annual culture camp! This is a great event year after year and we are looking forward to an even better time this year! We have had some incredible sponsors who helped out with this event each year and we are so proud and grateful for that! For this year we are looking for sponsors again!
