We are looking for an Assistant Teacher.
Part Time: 4.5 hours a day Monday through Friday for a total of 22.5 hours a week September through June.
Pay: $18 per hour
Responsibilities:
- Assist the head teacher with preparing the classroom each day and checking the children in.
- Assist the teacher with classroom management, instruction and safety.
- Assist the teacher in parent pick up and cleaning the classroom for the following day.
- Duties also include helping the teacher keep accurate records of the students, planning special events and activities for the children, helping facilitate structured and unstructured play and attend staff meetings as designated.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- 1 year working with children ages 1-5
- CPR and First Aid certified or agree to obtain before beginning work
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Knowledge, Ability and Skills
- Knowledge of appropriate milestones that 3 and 4 year olds are capable of achieving.
- Ability to patiently help preschoolers acknowledge their emotions and help them grow their emotional intelligence.
- Direct preschoolers and help lead a center during designated center time.
- Experience using tablets and laptops.
- Ability to demonstrate problem solving skills to the children, as well as conflict resolution.
All employees of Agape Grace Preschool Center must have proof of a medical exam and complete a background check per the Department of Education.
