A curator scours the art world, selects the finest works, gathers them together around a unified theme, provides a frame to understand the artists’ messages and then hosts a conversation around the collection. Content curating is the act of searching out and organizing content from several different sources, and presenting it in a meaningful fashion. A content curator gathers information relating
to a certain topic, and organizes it for viewing. As professionals in the education market place, teachers and administrators, comb through an overabundance of information to discover the significant and relevant, bundle those ideas into programs, course unit modules, contextualize them for the class and then create an environment for students to explore those ideas. Often, we are seduced by the market "Professional Learning Community" loafers that pick up scraps of seeds and parade around without first digesting them or the aggregator that simply bundles together information without thinking about its contextual framework. Curating Arts Integration is my authentic experience in which 90% is classroom work and 10% is the result of this 16 years of sifting through arts integration strategies, and experiences documenting how the arts naturally include the "other" core subjects. On this website, I will share arts integration content for science, math, social studies, and language teachers to use as supplemental resources in their classroom.
