🏈❤️ A HUGE HUFFMAN ELEMENTARY SHOUT-OUT! 🖤🏈

We want to give a BIG shout-out to the Huffman Hargrave football teams and their coaches for showing up for our Huffman Elementary teachers yesterday!

After their scrimmage, these young men could have headed home—but instead, they came over to campus, jumped right in, moved furniture, carried boxes, rearranged classrooms, and worked HARD to help our teachers get their classrooms ready for our students. 💪🏼📚

What an incredible example of teamwork, leadership, service, and selflessness! These boys didn’t just talk about being a team—they showed us what it truly means to be part of a community and to lend a helping hand when it’s needed. ❤️

To our football players and coaches: THANK YOU! Your willingness to give your time and energy to help our teachers means more than you know. We are so proud to have you represent the H!

And to our teachers—your classrooms are a little more ready because of some pretty amazing athletes who understand that being a champion is about so much more than what happens on the field. 🏆

What a fantastic way to kick off the new school year! ❤️🖤

Our Huffman Elementary staff started the day at district convocation, celebrating the exciting year ahead and the incredible work happening across Huffman ISD.

Afterward, we enjoyed a delicious lunch generously provided by Family First ER: Atascocita Emergency Room and stayed refreshed with Sonic drinks courtesy of Kelly Swartz with Swartz Realty Group. Thank you for taking such great care of our staff!

The fun didn’t stop there! The afternoon was filled with laughter, teamwork, and shopping during team-building fun organized by Courtney Nichols and our amazing Huffman Elementary PTO. To top it all off, our teachers loaded the buses (Thank You Huffman ISD Transportation) and headed to Walmart in Crosby, where each teacher received a $100 gift card from our incredible PTO to purchase supplies for their classrooms and students.

A huge thank you to our HES administration for intentionally creating time for our teachers and staff to prepare for a successful school year while also investing in opportunities to connect, recharge, and have fun together.

We are so grateful for our supportive community and can’t wait to welcome our Falcons back for an amazing year! ❤️🖤

📢 Important Update for the 2026-2027 School Year 📢

As part of our ongoing commitment to student safety, Huffman Elementary will no longer offer "backdoor walker" dismissal beginning with the 2026-2027 school year.

Students who previously utilized the backdoor walker dismissal option will now need to either:

🚗 Be picked-up through our designated car rider line, or

🚶 Be dismissed through the front-door walker dismissal locations.

**A parent/guardian must present the UPDATED dismissal tag for PK-2nd graders.**

The safety and security of our students remain our highest priority. This change will allow us to better supervise dismissal procedures and ensure all students are released safely each day.

We wanted to share this information well in advance so families have time to make any necessary transportation arrangements before the start of the new school year.

We can't wait to welcome our newest students to First Flight! This fun event gives incoming PK, Kindergarten, PPCD Lifeskills, and SLC students a chance to become familiar with their school before the first day of class.
