SPICE and BRACE Character Education Program In 2009 the City of Hueytown was awarded a $10,000 grant from The Alabama State Department of Economics through State Representative Merika Coleman.

S.P.I.C.E (Strategic Partnering to Increase Character Education) and B.R.A.C.E (Boys Receiving Advanced Character Education) Character Education Program is a non profit program designed to offer girls and boys character building skills. The Concerned Citizens of Hueytown established the SPICE and BRACE program in 2010, with the goal of helping our young people to become productive, caring and resp

onsible citizens. This grant was sufficient for the first three years of operation. Subsequential years have been funded through private donations and The Concerned Citizens of Hueytown.
