Holland High School's Katie Jordan received a HEF grant to help publish the second issue of the "Holland High Review." Students working on the journal through creative writing developed new skills that will benefit them as they pursue other schooling. They discovered that they are capable of far more than they thought! In addition to publishing in the Holland High Review, 36 students were selected for publication through the Young Writer's contests to which they submitted work. Congratulations Ms. Jordan and HHS 9-12th grade students!

Happy Summer from HEF!

Holland Language Academy's 4th Grade received a HEF grant for the "Wonder Of Nature":

"This experiential learning trip was amazing, knowing how erosion changes the environment, and having the experience of seeing animals in their habitat." Looks like these students LOVED the Pure Michigan FUN of the Dune Rides!

Thank you to our generous HEF donors, who make experiences like this one possible for HPS students!

We love our educators! HEF provided breakfast & swag bags today for new staff training, including cookies from our very own staff member Becky at My Someday Bakery ❤️🤍. Breakfast and swag bags can’t solve the world’s problems, but we want our staff to feel pampered, welcome, supported and seen.

Thanks to our staff for pouring care and support into HPS kids!

Jillian Sietsema was granted HEF funding for a 2nd Grade Spring Field Trip to the Outdoor Discovery Center. 🌲

"While students were using nets to drag/scoop water and bottom material from the pond, many organisms like green frogs, water tigers, beetles, etc, were found. There were so many excited children talking, describing, and using organism identification cards to find out what kinds of animals they were finding in the pond. The excitement and learning happening were infectious! It was a wonderful trip!"

"The pure joy, smiles, and laughter by students is worth everything. This field trip is my absolute favorite because students are more independent. They learn to order their own food and pay for their food. They get to celebrate each other in a variety of experiences. It truly is a beautiful way to end the year!"

Thank you to our HEF donors, who make experiences like this possible.
