DAT's Piano Lessons Piano lessons taught virtually in a fun, no-pressure environment from the comfort of your own home. I specialize in beginners, but all levels are welcome.

I've been teaching piano since 1995, and I do it the unconventional way... for the FUN of learning. No scales, no recitals... just kids being able to learn an instrument & arm themselves with knowledge that will take them on to bigger and better things. Lesson Times : Monday-Thursday 3:30pm-6pm (message for available times).

Year #31 is in the books!

Thank you to all of my piano parents and students for another GREAT year of lessons! I absolutely LOVE teaching these kids!

This is my last year of lessons in Hudson… I had 21 great years of teaching in this city, and I’ve SO loved it here. This coming school year I’ll be seeing you from a new location… Minneapolis MN!

Enjoy your summer, practice when you can, and I’ll see you in the Fall!

We’ve come to the end of another year of lessons… year 30 to be exact.

A huge THANK YOU to all my piano parents… hanging with your kids for 30 minutes every week is a blessing for me, and I truly appreciate you giving me the opportunity to teach them. I’ve seen SO much growth this year in every one of them!

I hope eveyone has a wonderful summer, and remember to have them practice a little bit when they have some free time… I’ll see them in September!!

Happy World Piano Day 2025!

I never knew this was a thing in my 30 years of teaching and many more playing, but it’s the instrument that truly changed my life from my first piano lesson in 5th grade.

And 45 years later it still gives me a joy that is unmatched, either when I sit down and play myself, but also when I’m teaching my students and listening to them learn this amazing instrument in real time. It’s like nothing else…

My name is Philip Daniel and I am a composer/pianist from here in Lincoln, Nebraska. I will be coming to perform a concert at the Phipps in Hudson, WI on September 22nd and wanted to personally invite you, link to details below!

My music is neo-classical/minimalism and blends piano w/ electronics/percussion and features live looping, similar to that of Philip Glass/Max Richter/Nils Frahm/etc...! It is definitely more of a niche genre than usually hosted at the Phipps and hence I wanted to reach out to area local teachers because I think it would be an enriching experience and I'd love to share my music with you!

I also have a passion for sharing my career experience and what I do for a career (film/dance composer, music licensing, streaming, etc...) with young music students who might be interested in pursuing music for a career. I studied classical piano performance in undergrad and grad school and had no idea I could make a living writing my own music for film and performing, therefore I am passionate about helping students know what is out there in the world of music.

Today starts my 30th year teaching piano… that number doesn’t even seem possible. Some of the students I had way back in the beginning are now in their 40’s!

I am SO grateful for the support I’ve had over the past 30 years, and being able to start a beginner on their musical journey is the BEST part of this gig.

I have a few slots open from 4pm-6pm, so if you have a son or daughter looking to learn piano, shoot me a message and we’ll get them set up!

I’ve been 100% virtual since 2020, which I’ve found is VERY convenient for the busy families, plus kids are more relaxed when they get to learn in their own comfortable home environments.

To the person that took my Piano Lesson yard sign from my front yard sometime this past weekend (pictured on the right from a previous photo), keep your hands off my property.

And before anyone says otherwise, it was absolutely taken… it didn’t blow anywhere, as it was securely in the ground, and my flower pots and other sign were upright.

This is my BUSINESS, and it disappoints me to no end that someone would feel the need to take something “just because”.
