CELEBRATE HUDSON LOCATION SPOTLIGHT: THE ARMORY ON THE ASSABET

We’re taking you around Downtown Hudson to show you everything happening during Celebrate Hudson on Saturday, September 19!

One of several activity areas throughout the festival is the Armory on the Assabet, where you’ll find live performances, Touch-a-Truck, vendors, activities, and plenty to explore from 1:00–5:00 PM.

🚒 Check out Touch-a-Truck and a variety of vehicle displays throughout the afternoon. Kids (and grown-ups!) can get an up-close look while exploring everything happening around the Armory grounds.

🎪 We’re kicking things off with a 1:30 PM aerial arts performance from local business InFlyte Entertainment! Then, head behind the Armory to the performance tent for more entertainment throughout the afternoon, featuring:
• Bach to Rock
• The Rock Institute
• Voices of MetroWest

🛍️ Vendors will be spread throughout the Armory grounds with art, cookies, products, information, activities, and plenty more to discover. This area will have things to see and do for both kids and adults, so make sure you give yourself time to explore!

🚋 Colonial Trolley will be nearby to help you make your way to other Celebrate Hudson locations throughout Downtown Hudson. There’s much more happening beyond the Armory, so hop aboard and keep exploring!

🎶 Activities at the Armory wrap up at 5:00 PM, but Celebrate Hudson keeps going. Head over to the Avidia Bank South Street parking lot for the after-party and more live music through 7:00 PM.

Meet Chris Marie Riordon — a member of the Armory’s Organizing Committee and the owner of Chris Marie’s Piano Keys.

Chris Marie has loved music for as long as she can remember. She was first drawn to the piano for its emotional expression and sound — especially what she calls its “cascading waterfall of sound.”

That same wonder shapes how she teaches. In her studio, every student becomes royalty: “The moment they sit at the piano, they are the King or Queen of the Keyboard.” (And yes — she hands out crowns!)

When Chris Marie discovered the Armory, she saw a home not just for her studio, but for something bigger. Her vision for the space? “The Armory will mean a place of connection and culture and growth.”

Concerts, plays, art exhibits, contra dancing, community art projects, lessons — a place where people of all ages and backgrounds come together and are united through the arts.

We’re so grateful to have Chris Marie helping bring that vision to life. 💜
