A circle on a plate. A rectangle on a door. A triangle on a sign. A square on a block.

For young children, noticing shapes in everyday life is an early way of building math thinking without making it feel like a math lesson. 💛

🔎 Notice details
Children begin paying attention to the lines, curves, corners, and sizes that make shapes different.

🧩 Make comparisons
Is it round or does it have corners? Is it bigger or smaller? Which shapes look alike? These simple comparisons build early reasoning skills.

Last Friday, our lead teachers came together for a meaningful time of connection, reflection, and shared learning. 💛

While this gathering brought our lead teachers together, the ideas and conversations they shared have an impact far beyond the meeting. What we learn from one another helps strengthen the work we do together as a team and the experiences we create for the children in our care.

At BTB, we know that creating a meaningful early learning environment takes all of us. Every teacher, every classroom, every conversation, and every small moment of connection contributes to the experience a child has with us. 🌱

A puzzle can look like a simple activity, but when children work with numbers and pieces, they’re practicing several important skills all at once. 💛

Recognizing numbers, counting, matching, and noticing patterns help children build a foundation for mathematical thinking.

🧠 Problem-Solving
Which piece belongs here? What should I try next? Children are learning to look closely, make choices, test ideas, and figure things out.
