Hello, Spartan Nation!
I hope all of you had a blessed and Merry Christmas and that you're starting 2024 on a positive note! As I want this page to truly be for and about ALL Spartans, past and present. As I have stated before, I do have a very important request. As you post an obituary for a former Spartan, PLEASE POST THE GRADUATING CLASS that The Deceased belonged to. Just as you're helping by posting, you will also be helping by clarifying who it is that passed away. Many people have the same names and are years apart, so a Class Year would be most helpful. Thank you, to all my Spartan Family, for your interest in this page.

With much love, health, happiness and good fortune, I bid you all a bright and Happy New Year!

I don’t mean to be a grinch however.... to those of you who are placing Christmas lights/decorations in your yards, would you please avoid anything that has Red or Blue flashing lights together? Every time I come around the corner, I think it's the police and I have a panic attack. I have to brake hard, toss my beer out the window, fasten my seat belt, throw my phone on the floor, turn my radio down, and push the gun under the seat. All while trying to drive.
It's just too much drama, even for Christmas. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.🎄

(Please keep this going and steal this post like I did...😉) I hope you got a good laugh 😂🤣🌲☃️⛄☄️❄️🎄Sometimes you just need to laugh😂...it’s good for the soul.

Review of handcrafted fishing lures made by my friend, John Catherman at JVCs Crafted Lures Etc. You may remember John from South Caldwell Class of 1987. John is beginning to make quite a name for himself down in Gulfport, Mississippi, with his handcrafted fishing lures and soft baits. John, these look great and I'm available to field test any of the lures you want to send me, pal!

Hey, everyone, this is Eddie. Forgive me, but this is going to be a very long post. It is of great importance to me because it concerns my first cousin, Charles "Chuck" Spring, III. The bottom line is that he needs some serious help. Below are excerpts from the email he sent me.

"I have a Go Fund Me page to raise money and I’m hoping that you’re willing to spread it around via Facebook or the VFW or whatever other groups you’re a part of so that as many people as possible can see it. I really, seriously need to raise some money to help fight cancer.

Emotionally I’m doing well, most of the time. Physically, I’m not doing well at all. The last available cancer treatment that I’ve been taking is not working at all and the cancer tumors are continuing to grow.

Back in 2016 after I had been on chemo for a year and after conducting intense research, I stopped taking chemo and started juicing and eating a vegan diet. After doing that for six months, the CT scan showed that I had zero tumors, except for several calcified tumors in my liver. I continued with the juicing and the diet for another six months and the next CT scan showed the same thing. So, I stopped juicing and eating vegan." "The tumors came back with a vengeance. I said, OK, I killed the tumors last year by juicing and diet. I’ll do that again. Only the second time it didn’t work. After a year the tumors had spread to my liver and lungs. I started chemo again and stayed on chemo until now. Since the chemo is no longer working, I have to find something else because I’m not ready to give up and die.

I found the Sedona Wellness Retreat. It’s an “exclusive” retreat, but they provide room and board, doctors and radiologists, they conduct CT scans to check progress, and they have dozens and dozens of options for treating whatever ailment you might have. I called and talked to the intake nurse, and after an hour of getting information from her I am determined that’s where I’m going to go to continue fighting cancer, and I firmly believe that this treatment will work. Unfortunately, the intensive cancer treatment is $75,000 for a four week program. That of course includes room and board, meals, juices, Doctor visits and everything that’s included in the program including a four-month case of supplies to take home so I can continue the program, minus the IVs and doctor visits, at home. To help raise this money, Lori Baber, my former girlfriend, set up a Go Fund Me page to ask for donations. She just put it online Saturday and so far I’ve raised $200 which is much more than I anticipated after just one day. But it’s a long way to $75,000." " I have every confidence that this program in Sedona will kill the tumors and help me heal. They use the same juicing program I used and a similar vegan diet that I used but they have all the other good stuff that I didn’t have access to that are proven cancer killers."

"Much love and hugs, Chuck"

Please, any amount you may be able to afford could help my cousin live. This Go Fund Me page was started by his former girlfriend and still a very close friend. She has more details on Chucks condition the Go Fund Me page. Please, help if you can and share whether you can donate or not.

Thank you in advance,
Eddie Tapper

Sadly, I announce the passing of Philip "Flop" Maneval Bolick, South Caldwell High School Class of '89, on March 4, 2022. Philip was an extremely talented guitarist and played with many local bands. He was a personal friend of mine for over 42 years. I played Little League Baseball with him, supported his bands, worked with him at Snyder Paper Corp., burnt various meats (wild and domesticated) on the grill with him and yes, even drank beers with him. His latest claim to fame was his Uncle Flop's Famous Pickled Sausages. His fiance has created a permanent memorial page for Philip for friends and family to share memories of Philip. It can be accessed by going to
www.UncleFlop.com
Yet again, we say goodbye to another SPARTAN way too soon.
