At age 4 Brandon began studying Isshin Ryu Karate in New Jersey, earning his 1st degree black belt in 2000. He began Soo Bahk Do training in 2002 while attending UAlbany, and in 2006 he became the first student who began their training at UAlbany and earn their black belt. From 2005 to 2008 he was responsible for Soo Bahk Do instruction at the university, assisting tw

o other students in earning their black belts. In 2011 he attained the rank of 3rd Dan, and in 2012 he was a member of the winning team at the National Sparring Championships in New Jersey. In 2016 he became an Assistant Instructor, and he plans to become a Certified Instructor in 2017. Brandon still trains regularly with Master Instructor Alex Baran in Wappingers, NY and participates in regional events. Class descriptions:
The classical South Korean art of Soo Bahk Do will teach students practical self-defense, improved strength and flexibility, and a wide range of defensive and offensive techniques. Discipline, respect, concentration and self-confidence will all develop with SBD training. The most dedicated students will gain access to many regional and national events, where they will have opportunities to train with some of the greatest martial artists in the world.
