Gratefulness was on my mind driving home from work today; thank you, FB, for asking. The astounding beauty of trees and shrubs in bloom, red maples leafed out against lilacs and snowy apple and wild cherry trees. A nearly appropriate backdrop for the heroic sacrifices the American flags on phone poles in Hudson and Bradford represent. We'll be open Sunday 10 til 4 pm, and Memorial Day 10 til 2. We are out of geraniums. Please check out Hutchings Greenhouse, Country Junction in Bradford, Ledgewood Gardens, Pratt's Greenhouse , any of your favorite local growers for geraniums. Thank you, lovely gardening peeps! 😊 Enjoy your weekend! Yes, that's my dog's collar jingling. Black flies.

The skies might be gray, but we're open. Yay! And here's some green and color for your day. 😊 Flowers, baskets, herbs and veggies. Shrubs, perennials, and fruit trees and bushes have arrived. Seeds, seed potatoes and onion sets. Also, Pro Mix 3.8 cu ft bales and Kinney Compost. Saw a hummingbird in the greenhouse today, the little Mister, so his wife must be making the nest or setting on eggs. And when the breeze died, there were black flies. Spring has sprung! We're open 9 to 5 Monday throught Saturday, Sundays 10 to 4 pm. Happy spring, lovely gardening peeps!

The dog on the left, R***r, is still missing. He was caught on security camera 3/10 on Birch Tree Lane, but also on Kirby's trail cam up back, same night. Confirmed it's R***r by his owner. Tracks lead to the building up back, and Kirby thinks he's living under it. There's a beaten path. Saying prayers R***r is hiding out there! Hopeful he can be live trapped and get home to reunite with his brother Marlin and his people!

Hello, gardening peeps! Marlin is home, safe. Doing well. His brother R***r is still out there and his mom and dad, who've been tirelessly searching, done all the things( drone service x 2, live traps. Scent bait sites, calling, and calling, posters everywhere,) have come down with the cold/flu junk. No sightings in 3 or 4 days of R***r. He was last seen around Meadowbrook Lane area, Hudson. Please keep watching for sign of him, checking your security cameras. Weather the next few days promises to be beautiful: looking for this sweet guy might be a good excuse to hit trails on a snowsled, snowshoes, cross country skis. Or get your children out of the house on a nature walk. I've posted a pic of the trails behind the Ellis's Greenhouse & Nursery you're welcome to use. It's beautiful up there. I'm working tomorrow and Saturday, likely Sunday. Because planting. πŸ™‚ Will be taking some walks on breaks to see what I can see.

This is a departure for our business page, but I'm on a mission. These doggies have been hanging around behind the greenhouse in the woods. One or both of them. They're brothers, well loved and their people are desperate to have them home. They've had a drone service searching for them, posters up, contacting whoever they think might see their dogs. One was last seen heading across the road from the greenhouse toward Pushaw, one near the tracks towards Pushaw Lake Rd in Glenburn. Please keep your eyes peeled. They're friendly, but likely skittish of people because they've been on the lam for 10 days. If seen please call the number on the poster or your local Animal Control Officer.

Long time, no talky, gardening peeps. Have gotten my act together and been busy! Wasn't today beautiful? Mostly because that bitter cold is gone. And the sunshine. Love it! So do the plants.😊 Here are some pics of our little green friends, and the 1200 or so American Chestnuts planted Saturday.

These are Blue Vantage cabbages. Our Amish customers suggested them. What a great cabbage! Big tight heads, despite the drought conditions, and the blue leaves are beautiful contrast in the garden. Picked 4 cabbs, gave away one. Still have one on my counter, another in the garden. From 2 cabbages, froze 6 packages (4 servings each) for boiled dinners, and 5 packages (4 servings each) of cabbage rolls for this winter. These are a success! 😁

Had to pull our garlic today. I've been watering but we really need rain, a couple inches, I'm guessing. About two weeks early pulling the garlic. How are your gardens growing, gardening peeps?
