Last week, violin student and COM alum Skye Kubinski performed Mendelssohn Op 13 with her quartet for a masterclass with Hannah Moses and Greg Lewis of the . HMS Chamber Music & Violin faculty attended in support- what a full circle moment!

Skye studied violin with Marlene, and participated in Summer Chamber Music since its inaugural summer of 2015. We’re proud of you Skye 👏

Achievement Festival is right around the corner! It is an opportunity for students of any age and skill level to have a positive performance experience.

Prepare a solo piece, or portion of a solo piece, for evaluation (no longer than 4 minutes). Students will receive written remarks of positive feedback and ideas for progress from a qualified evaluator.

Free for currently enrolled COM@HMS individual lesson and chamber music students. $20 fee for non-COM students.

Speak with your student’s private teacher to confirm participation. Registration and more info via the link in our bio!

Congratulations to COM@HMS alum Roy Morcos, winner of the Lauria Concerto Competition at Baldwin Wallace Conservatory!

Roy will be performing Concerto for Viola and Orchestra by Miklós Rózsa, and a world premiere by composer Ilona Fiedorowicz, with the Baldwin Wallace Symphony Orchestra.

Roy performs February 20th at 7:00 PM. Livestream Roy’s performance here: https://www.bw.edu/events/2026/02/symphony-orchestra
