Happy to support a love of books in our young readers!

Summer may be a break from school, but learning didn't stop for these hard-working students! By logging 1,000 minutes during our Summer Reading Challenge, four students from each grade were drawn as lucky winners in our school raffle.

Even better? Every single student who submitted their reading tracker earned a $10 Book Fair voucher—made possible by our generous Parent Group! 🎟️

We extend our deepest gratitude to:
-Our Parent Group for providing such generous prizes and ongoing support.
-Our Parents & Caregivers for inspiring a lifelong love of reading at home.

We are so proud and fortunate to call Hudson Prairie home. We truly are BETTER TOGETHER! ❤️

🍬🎃 CANDY CHALLENGE UPDATE — WE’RE AT 90 POUNDS! 🎃🍬

Hudson Prairie families, you’re off to an AMAZING start! We’ve already collected 90 pounds of candy toward our 500-pound goal for our First Annual Trunk or Treat! 👻🍭
But we still have 410 pounds to go! 😱
With up to 400 students and an anticipated 30+ trunks, it takes A LOT of candy to make sure every child gets plenty as they make their way through the event!

🍬 Keep sending in those candy donations!
Every bag—big or small—gets us closer to filling that thermometer! 🌡️

Our goal: 500 POUNDS by October 29! 🎯
Thank you for helping us make Hudson Prairie PTO’s First Annual Trunk or Treat an amazing night for our Prairie kids! 🧡💜

Can we hit 500?! LET’S DO THIS, HUDSON PRAIRIE! 🎃🍬👻

We have lots of exciting updates to share about Hudson Prairie PTO’s First Annual Trunk or Treat, along with a Book Fair volunteer opportunity!

🎃 FIRST ANNUAL TRUNK OR TREAT
📅 Thursday, October 29
⏰ 5:30–7:30 PM
📍 Hudson Prairie Elementary & Middle School Parking Lot
🎟️ FREE event! ONLY Hudson Prairie students & families allowed.

We can’t wait to bring our Hudson Prairie community together for an evening of costumes (optional), decorated trunks, candy, food, and fun! We are anticipating a BIG turnout, and we need your help to make the evening a success.

🎟️ EVENT REGISTRATION – WATCH FOR FORMS THIS WEEK!
Registration forms and additional event information will be coming home in your child’s folder this week.
* RSVPs are required
* Wristbands will be required for entry
* Submit one registration form per family
* Registration deadline: Thursday, October 8
Returning your form by October 8 will help us plan for attendance and make sure we have enough trunks, candy, and supplies for everyone.

🚗 HOST A TRUNK!
We need trunks to make Trunk or Treat happen! We would love to see as many Hudson Prairie families participate as possible. Hudson Prairie staff will also be joining in the fun by hosting trunks! We are also welcoming local businesses, community organizations, and high school sports teams and clubs to participate.

Interested in hosting?
* Choose a fun or creative theme and decorate your trunk
* Trunk sign-up information will be included with the registration form
* Trunk registration deadline: October 8
* You do NOT need to provide candy for the entire event!
With potentially 400+ children attending, the PTO will coordinate candy donations and help keep trunks stocked throughout the evening.

🍬 HELP US REACH OUR 500-POUND CANDY GOAL!
Yes, you read that right — 500 pounds! 🍭🍫
With 400+ Prairie kids potentially attending, it takes a LOT of treats to keep all of those trunks stocked. We are collecting:
* 🍬 Individually wrapped candy
* 🎃 Stickers & temporary tattoos
* ✏️ Pencils & fun erasers
* ✨ Glow sticks or glow items
* 🧸 Small fidgets & kid-friendly trinkets
Non-candy items are especially appreciated so we can offer options for children with food allergies or dietary restrictions. Donations can be sent to school with your student anytime through the event, but if possible, please send donations by Thursday, October 8. This will give us time to see where we stand and purchase additional supplies if needed.

Prefer to make a monetary donation? You can contribute through Hudson Prairie PTO Venmo: . Please include “Trunk or Treat Candy” in the memo.
Every bag and every donation helps us get closer to 500 pounds!

🥫 HELP US GIVE BACK!
While Trunk or Treat is a FREE event, families who are able are encouraged to bring canned goods or other non-perishable food items with them. All donations will benefit the Hudson food shelf’s “Stuff a Trunk”. We would love to see our Prairie community help stock their shelves while enjoying a fun evening together!

🍕🍩 COME HUNGRY!
Skip making dinner that night! We are excited to welcome two food truck partners:
* 🍕 Willow River Saloon / Carbone’s Pizza
* 🍩 Holy Donuts
Both businesses have generously agreed to donate a portion of the evening’s proceeds back to Hudson Prairie PTO! Grab dinner, enjoy a sweet treat, and support our school at the same time!

Whether you attend, host a trunk, donate candy or goodies, contribute to the food drive, or visit our food trucks, every bit of participation helps make this event a success.

📌 Remember: Watch your child’s folder this week for registration forms and additional event information. Forms are due Thursday, October 8!

Thank you for helping us make Hudson Prairie’s First Annual Trunk or Treat an amazing night for our Prairie kids. We can’t wait to celebrate with you on October 29! 🎃👻🍬
