In Animal Science, we have been busy! We had guest speakers come from Schwartz Farms to talk about career opportunities within their company and talk about pig production. We also went to Brester Feedlot and got a tour from Mitchell Brester with their new facility. We have also gotten a tour by Russ Vering for the new hog barns near Howells. We will be touring many more in the next couple of weeks! Thanks for all the wisdom to those whom we have toured with or spoken to.

The first quarter of 8th graders finished on Friday. We learned a lot from plant science to animal science and finished up with FFA. This last week, the 8th graders made pork jerky and ice cream. It was a great first quarter and eager to see some of these students return to the ag classroom in the fall.

On Wednesday, August 25th, the Animal Science class went down to Willow Tree Dog Grooming in Howells. We want to thank Cassie Baumert for her expertise and her willingness to share her business with us. Aiden was able to shave Cassie's Poodle and enjoyed this learning experience. This is the first of many tours this year for this class!

These awesome Wildlife & Fishery students all caught bluegill today. Some had caught a couple and some were lucky with just one but it was nice to have a conversation on what was working and what needed changes with a beautiful day.
