Is This the Bond?
A bond proposal and the non-homestead operating millage are not the same thing.
A bond proposal supports voter-approved capital projects and facility improvements, such as those funded by the Our Kids, Our Community, Our Future Bond.

The non-homestead operating millage is part of the district’s annual operating funding and is required for Howell Public Schools to receive its full per-pupil funding established by the State of Michigan.

🐺💛 Principal for the Day! 💛🐺

On Friday morning, Franklin took over as our Honorary Principal for the Day! He earned this special prize by being our top Mumkin seller this year!

Franklin enjoyed his favorite snacks, passed out donuts to his class and staff, made PA announcements, and even helped lead our fire drill! He also worked with the Brighton Area Fire Department during the drill.

Great job, Principal Franklin! You were an awesome leader! 🐾👏

Why is the Non-Homestead Millage Renewal and Restoration on the ballot now if the current authorization doesn’t expire until December 2027?

Placing the proposals on the Nov. 3, 2026 gubernatorial election ballot allows the district to seek voter consideration during an already scheduled election, avoiding the additional cost of holding a standalone election.

Absentee ballots for the Nov. 3 General Election are now available. Michigan voters do not need a reason to request an absentee ballot.

You can request an absentee ballot and learn about your options for returning it through Michigan.gov/Vote.

And remember: completed absentee ballots generally must be received by your local clerk by 8 p.m. on Election Day to be counted.

Michigan voters have several options for casting their ballot in the Nov. 3 General Election:
*Absentee: Ballots are available beginning Sept. 25.
