This November, Howell Public Schools residents will be asked to consider two ballot proposals related to the district’s non-homestead operating millage. If approved, one proposal would renew the current millage, while the other would restore millage authorization that has been reduced due to Headlee Amendment rollbacks.
Between now and Election Day, we will share facts and information about the proposals to help our community understand what will appear on the ballot.
You can also learn more and view frequently asked questions at HowellSchools.com/Renewal.

💚💛 Hello, Coyote Family! 💛💚
Please join me in welcoming Ellen Koerner to the Southwest family! Ellen is our new School Social Worker through LESA, and we're excited to have her as part of our team.
Here's a little bit about Ellen, in her own words:
Hello! My name is Ellen Koerner, and I am looking forward to joining the Southwest family as your new School Social Worker. I genuinely love what I do—helping students navigate their feelings, build relationships, and thrive both in and out of the classroom.
When I’m not at school, I like spending time with my family, going to my children’s high school activities and traveling. I love to talk about animals/pets and I am well versed in Pokemon. I enjoy staying active by walking, yoga and CrossFit.
I’m looking forward to seeing what this school year brings.
