🎓 One of the most inspiring moments of Cleary University's 2026 Commencement came when Sheron Adams collected her hard-earned MBA.

As Sheron made her way across the stage, the entire arena erupted in applause and rose to its feet in a standing ovation.

That moment was supposed to happen two years earlier.

Just days before her original commencement ceremony in 2024, Sheron was in a tragic accident that left her paralyzed. What should have been a celebration of her academic achievement became the beginning of a long and challenging recovery journey.

But Sheron never gave up.

After spending the past two years healing, rebuilding and finding her strength, she returned to commencement this spring to finally claim the degree she worked so hard to earn.

“Cleary opened a door that showed me what the next chapter of my life could look like.”

A retired Detroit Police Department corporal, Sheron earned both her bachelor's degree and MBA through Cleary's accelerated program and is already looking toward her next goal — pursuing a doctoral degree.

Sheron, your courage, perseverance and determination inspired every person in that arena. We are honored to celebrate this milestone with you.

❤️ Congratulations, Sheron!

Congratulations to Hartland High School Students Laila Dubon, Madilyn Lesnek and Lex Glime, who were recently selected as finalists for the 2026 Lowell Milken Center for Unsung Heroes' ARTEFFECT Competition.

We had the pleasure of meeting Laila and Madilyn at one of our Arthur Secunda Immersive Experiences this past fall, and witnessed the high level of artwork they do. As seen here, they attended with classmates and HHS art teachers Josh Etheridge and Madeline Grinage.

It's a privilege to host Livingston County's most talented high school art students through our Immersive Experience. We're looking forward to four more workshops in the 2026-27 school year!

Donate to Bring Karliana Home - Help Post Her Bond, organized by Cleary University Women's Soccer Team 06/17/2026

At Cleary University, we believe education is about more than what happens in the classroom. It is also about community, compassion, and supporting one another when challenges arise.

Members of the Cleary University Women's Soccer Team have organized a GoFundMe campaign to support teammate Karliana Perdomo, a senior business student and member of the Women's Soccer Team, as she navigates an ongoing immigration matter.

A native of Venezuela, Karliana came to the United States as a teenager and has built a life in Michigan through her education, work, and community involvement. She graduated with honors from Western International High School in Detroit, earned an associate degree while competing in collegiate soccer at St. Clair County Community College, and is now pursuing her bachelor's degree in business at Cleary University.

Karliana was recently detained by ICE following a traffic stop in Detroit and is currently being held at a detention facility while awaiting an immigration hearing.

Her teammates describe her as hardworking, talented, inspiring, and someone who consistently puts others first. Their decision to organize this campaign is a powerful example of students supporting students and living the values of teamwork, leadership, and community.

The fundraiser will help support Karliana's bond and related legal expenses as her case proceeds. Those interested in learning more or contributing can visit:

We are proud of our student-athletes for rallying around one of their own during a difficult time.
