Excited to say hello and welcome to our newest Coyote 🎉💚💛

Colleen Wegener is excited to join Southwest Elementary as the new art teacher. She spent over 25 years as a designer and art director before transitioning to education and has taught middle school art for the past five years.

A practicing artist, Colleen has exhibited mosaic work at ArtPrize in Grand Rapids, earning Top 25 recognition in the 2D category. She enjoys helping students build creativity and confidence through art.

Outside the classroom, Colleen enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with family and friends. She looks forward to inspiring young artists at Southwest this year!

Yesterday our top color run pledges enjoyed their field trip to Dairy Queen 🍦. We had an awesome time celebrating all their hard work 💚💛
